12 - So much to tell you!

Welcome back! I have so much to tell you!

So nice we've got to help them!
So nice we've got to help them!

We woke up the day after the jacuzzi to a distress call on the radio! A sailing boat had just crossed the Drake and had looked to find that their engine was BROKEN! They sent radio signal for help from just outside Deception Island, which was where we were, so we - I should say Igor, Scott and Dad, not WE, AKA I was asleep- sailed to them, threw them a rope, and towed them to Telephone bay at the very end of deception island, a secluded bay where they can drop anchor and fix the engine. They got some oil from the Spanish Base near the bay and later on that day, they thanked us with honey! :)

After that, the weather wasn’t very nice, so we stayed in the boat until the afternoon where everyone went out to walk around. Dad and the rest of the crew -Jaci, Rodrigo, Jair, Igor and Adriana - made a super hike, even in the SUPER WIND.

Meanwhile, me, marina and mom went on a smaller hike. I told marina we should climb a mountain that was near us, and mom thought we were gonna climb low, but when she looked we were ONTOP of the mountain ! She was a bit mad, but not very mad after she climbed up to us. It was VERY windy, but not as windy as it was for dads crew, because we went back to the boat early after we played around in melting ice-rivers.

The next day very early, before we went on our long stretch of sailing, we all went on a small walk. We went on a small beach at the entrance of deception island, and saw whale bones, lots of seals, and more penguins.

Sea Elephants! So CUTE!

After that it was mainly sailing for a full day, at midnight we arrived at Trinity Island. After a loooooong night sleep, we jumped onto our weather gear and went on a dingy ride through a small part of the island. It was AMAZING! We saw icebergs, the PERFECT blue water, and we would’ve gone through a rock bridge if the water hadn’t been so rough inside it. The Capitan mentioned that when the Sea is calm enough sometimes he can navigate the boat thru these small channels. WOW!

Well thats it for now! Stay tuned!

P.S: I want to make a birthday surprise for my sister, Marina! If you don’t mind, can you say happy birthday to her in the comments? Thank you so much! <33
